What the ICM idea is for

ICM-style reasoning maps chip stacks into estimates of tournament prize equity under a model. The key practical lesson is that gaining a chip and losing a chip need not have symmetrical money consequences near payouts.

Why payout structure matters

Flat-survival structures, satellites and conventional top-heavy tournaments reward different outcomes. A decision that is attractive in chip EV can become unattractive when elimination has a large effect on expected prize value.

What our educational tools do

The Double Up Scenario Explorer reports stack depths, relative pressure and payout proximity. It does not infer opponent ranges, calculate exact finish probabilities or output Nash-equilibrium actions.

What would be required for exact model output

• Complete stack distribution.
• Exact payout schedule.
• A defined model for mapping chips to finish probabilities.
• For action recommendations, ranges and action trees beyond ICM alone.
