Sources & Research Standards
Poker information ranges from stable rules and mathematics to operator-specific formats that change. Our sourcing approach reflects that difference.
Preferred source hierarchy
- Official rules, operator documentation and tournament rules for operator-specific claims.
- Established poker educational sources for terminology and strategic context.
- Mathematical derivation for calculations that can be shown directly.
- Community discussion only as anecdotal evidence of player experience—not as proof.
How sources appear
Where a factual statement benefits from verification, a page can include a Sources & Further Reading section. Sources support facts; they do not substitute for an original explanation.
Uncertainty
When strategy depends on assumptions, we state them. When operator rules can change, readers are directed to verify the current rules before playing.
Research library & evidence labels
The Research & Evidence Library now separates primary rules, operator documentation, mathematical derivation, empirical research, original reference data and editorial interpretation. See the Evidence Framework for definitions and limitations.
